As a blessing from God I came to you
Led by angels I softly flew from above
They carried me carefully  from the sky
In happiness a new life was sent to earth
And an angel whispered sweetly to me:
Welcome to life, little child to be

I was seen by God right from the start
As a beautiful gift planned for long
He knew me when I was almost
To small to be seen
When I was hiding in my mothers womb
A long time before I was even born

God opened his thick, old book
And wrote my name on a unoccupied spot
And my days were created
Before the first one had started
For my father wanted  me to have
All good things that could ever be given to me

He knew everything about me
Which letters spelled my name
The color of my eyes, the length of my hair
The sound of my voice, the shape of my smile
My perosnality and the kind of person I would be
For I was one of his beloved children

He watched me from heaven
His whole presence shining bright
A ray of unconditional love warmly embraced my all
With a smile on his kind face
My father in heaven waved to me
And said: I bless you my child

Amazingly made
By your love and grace
Acccuratly painted in beautiful colors
Displayed in numerous ways, patterns and shapes

They are carefully created
With the creative touch of your mighty hand
Brushed by your pencil
Given life by your will

Sometimes they sit relaxed on a flower
Taking in their sorroundings in a rainy shower
As sun beams hit them from above
They shine as they watch the blessed rainbow you sent
As a reminder of the covenant made

Next thing they are flying high up in the air  
Fluttering with wings thin as silk paper
Elegantly they soar on heaven
Such a tiny being on the blue sky
Yet, lit up by your divine light

Sometimes a little butterfly gets lost
Confused she flaps right and left
Unsure of where to turn in her float
Not knowing which way to go

In the darkness she feels alone
Vulnerable and fragile as she is
She might get hurt or come to harm
Perhaps get caught in a spiders dangerous web

Scaredly she calls out for help
Weather awere or unawere
Begging to be saved

When a little butterfly gets her wings torn
By the sharp thorns of a rose
And when a little butterfly lose her way
Unable to find back to home by herself

Then God, please
Lift her up with your love
Hold her in your healing hands
Have pity on her and protect her well

Heal her by your mercy and kindness
Make her find her way back home
Let her get out of whatever danger she faces

And please God,
Protect me too,
Always hold me in your healing hands
As you do with that little butterfly

Little angel bring blessings to me
Fly all the way from heaven
Please, come rescue me

Little angel smile to me
Sing a nice song of love
And then maybe I’ll see

Little angel tell me once again
That you were sent by God
A true guardian angel from my dad
